IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Montenegro-Kosovo 2014-2020 The global objective of the programme is to improve the standard and quality of living of the people in the programme area through the environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive economic development of the region, with respect for its common cultural and natural heritage.
The project CARES – Cross-border Actions in the REproductive Health Sector has been finalized in February 2021 after delivery of the additional medicine equipment to health centres. The cross-border conference on Improvement of Reproductive Health was organised gathering 115 participants representing health institutions, CSOs, local authorities, educational institutions, media and citizens. During the two days of the Conference they presented the information and situation related to reproductive health in Montenegro, Kosovo and the region, prevention, diagnosis and treatment for the cervical cancer and breast cancer, good practice examples in this area, importance of involvement of all segments of the society, etc. Moreover, within the project 713 preventive examinations for women were organised (361 from Montenegro and 352 from Kosovo).
More precisely, 264 women were examined in Montenegro (as some of them did both examinations, i.e. breast cancer and Cervical Cancer preventive examinations), out of which 16% were diagnosed and required follow-up of their health conditions, additional examinations, therapies or underwent under some surgeries. In Kosovo, out of 352 examined women 46% of them required follow-up of their health conditions and/or additional examinations.
